What does the IT Support Officer role involve?
We are now recruiting an IT Support Officer to work at Manston Short Term Holding Facility and support with 1st or 2nd line service requests, and problems or incidents reported on site.
We are offering a starting salary of up to £30,000 per annum for this full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will be based at our Manston Short-Term Holding Facility site in Kent.
Alongside your IT colleagues, your key tasks will include (but are not limited to):
Managing 1st and 2nd line support issues, ensuring that our operational day-to-day runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Proactively seeking out IT-related risks and issues and taking responsibility for driving resolution in a timely and effective manner.
Ensuring all required changes are raised through the internal change process for approval.
Meeting all internal and external stakeholder expectations and SLAs.
Update appropriate documentation, procedures, and databases as required to maintain and report on network, end user compute and telecom resources.
Be a subject matter expert providing first class support to our Assisted Technology user community.

What are the requirements of the IT Support Officer role?
Experience of working in a customer-focused environment is essential.
Proven ability to build lasting working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and demonstrates consideration for colleagues.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to deal with conflicting demands, to deliver multiple projects, prioritise a heavy workload and fulfil the job requirements.
Able to work with the team to find solutions to problems that arise and who makes decisions when necessary.
Ability to quickly translate requests or problems into appropriate actions and solutions.
Maintains a positive attitude and conveys this to others. Prepared to adjust and be versatile to situations encountered.
Flexibility to undertake some out of hours work as overtime, as agreed in advanced with your People Manager.
Proven technical experience and exposure to Windows OS, Office suites, MS Teams, Mobile Device Management (Android), Print Management. Able to conduct independent research and develop IT solutions.
ITIL certification or other recognised IT Service Management certification
Exposure and experience of ticket management systems
Meets the requirements of the UK Home Office Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC), including having been resident in the UK for a period of more than 3 years, and have either a British, EEA or Commonwealth passport with ILM. Cascade

We use CV Parsing as part of our application process. It will automatically populate answers to questions based on content within your CV. You have the ability to edit all answers and you must check they are correct before submission.
Document Signing
We use DocuSign for digitally signed documents. You may be required to sign a contract, offer and/or other documents if you are successful. You will not have to create an account with them and we only pass on the minimum amount of data required to allow them to carry out their operations.
As part of our recruitment process, you may be requested to complete an online test with our third party providers "Amberjack" or "SHL/CEB".
